When I was faced with the daunting tasks of emptying, cleaning and selling the homes of my dear parents and auntie, I didn't know where to start. This was a task I had left undone for too long. I lived 100 miles away and remained extremely emotional about the situation. I honestly didn't know how to start! Concerned friends mentioned 'auction' to me. I was completely unfamiliar and frankly a little doubtful about the idea. Finally, I contacted a Real Estate office where I received information and options for emptying the contents and cleaning the houses, along with a list of names of those who provide these services. I chose Dave Thompson Auctioneer and Associates to handle the contents of both homes. Dave understands the emotional significance of handling and processing the personal belongings of your loved ones. I can not think of a time when I have ever before felt such respect and understanding as I did when working with Dave and crew. Dave went through both homes, sorting, labeling and storing the contents for auction. He meticulously cleaned both homes, so they were in 'move in' condition for the new owners! Dave has a sharp eye. He spotted a wedding photo of my parents that was in a box destined for auction; pulled it out and brought it to me. Imagine my surprise when presented with this long lost photo! Dave was also able to suggest a worthy charity for my piano and this had special significance for me. Thanks to Dave's hard work and know how, we had a successful two day auction at the Mower County Fairgrounds. Following the auction Dave delivered some large pieces of furniture to our home. I don't know what we would have done without Dave's knowledge and help! I am pleased to remain in touch with Dave today and consider him to be a dear personal friend.
